Simeon Williamson is one of Britain’s top sprinters who has represented Great Britain in the Olympic Games, World T&F Championships and World Indoor T&F Championships.
Simeon first tasted success at the 2005 European Junior Championships where he won the silver medal in the 100m finishing just 1/100th of a second behind the winner.
2007 was Simeon’s breakthrough year. He won the 100m in both the World University Games and the European U23 T&F Championships.
The following year Simeon finished 7th in the IAAF World Indoor T&F Championships and later in the year took the silver medal in the 100m at the UK Olympic Trials. In that race he set a personal best time of 10.03 seconds, which ranked him fourth on the UK all-time best list. He then went to his first Olympic Games and represented Team GB in the 100m and the 4x100m relay.
2009 saw one of Simeon’s most impressive performances and his first national championship win. He recorded a time of 10.05 seconds in the race - not a personal best but impressive considering that there was a -1.8 m/s wind. Simeon then led the GB 4 x 100m relay team to the bronze medal at the 2009 World T&F Championship, his first international relay medal.
Simeon has been training hard for 2012 and some of the biggest names in sprinting are tipping him for great things.
